Key Projects/Programmes handled


The centre for Women and Child development has credit of training more has 10,000 AIDS activist from different sections and groups of populations. The trainees include (School children, college students, Youth associations, SHG group members, NGO representatives, Field workers, village level representatives and functionaries of Panchayat Raj and other Government officials. To list out few Traning programes.

Training of Trainers (TOT) to One Lakh AIDS Prevention Activists 
(AASHA Phase-1) 2005-06


Objective
To create Awareness on AIDS and sustain holistic action in the Rural areas.

Methodology
APSACS proposed to training one lakh AIDS Awareness Activists in the State @ four per village to bring awareness about HIV/AIDS among the rural population. This centre collaborated with APSACS in planning and conducted training programmes to 4000 activists.They include Mandal Resource persons from Health departments DPMOs/APMOs, Middle Level Officers from School Education department members from SHGs and Mandal representatives at the rate of 4 from Mandal. A five day training modules was developed and training was imparted. The methodology followed during training period included interactive lecture mode, power point presentation, and documentary show. The participants were provided with required documentation interview of posters; charts and flip books for them further are in conducting trainings. The centre has organized 139 training programmes in 162 training days, covering 4928 participants.




Refresher Training Programme to Anganwadi workers of ICDS projects in Tribal Areas 2006-07.

Objective
To equip the Anganwadi workers with skills for effective performance.

Methodology
The centre in collaboration with the department of tribal welfare had identified the training needs of the Anganwadi workers from the tribal areas by conducting Training need Analysis TNA. It was found that language (English ) was the main constraint in imparting the training to target groups. Translation of the training material and modules was carried out in eight tribal dialects in consultation with Tribal cultural research and Training institute and tribal teachers. The languages included Adivasi, Oriya, Savara, Gondi, Kuvi, Kolami, Banjara, Kondaraju, and Koya. Accordingly the centre has designed the training strategy and methodology and one week training was imparted to 3,933 Tribal Anganwadi Workers covering the whole Andhra Pradesh State.




Training on Indiramma Programme 2006-2008

Objective
To create awareness on Indiramma programme among the functionaries of government and PRI bodies.

Methodology
The Centre has conducted Training Programs to the District Officers and to the Commissioners of Municipalities by conducting Evaluation on Training Needs to the functionaries immediately after launching of the Program. And after reviewing the program at State level the Centre has conducted a workshop with the concerned Departmental Officials to identify the current Training needs after formation of the Village Level Monitoring Committees, the newly Sarpanches as the Chairpersons.

Training programme for DRPs from District Level officers and Municipal Commissioners for all Districts were conducted on the concept and implementation process of INDIRAMMA Programme Training dealt with, on how the awareness trainings to be given to the people/beneficiaries of INDIRAMMA Villages/Wards through PRA methods. For the first time the institution has organized training programme to the Municipal Administration functionaries

The Centre has developed Training Modules, Awareness material like Books, Booklets, Pamphlets, Posters, Brochures and Flip Charts and distributed through out the State for the awareness of the People on INDIRAMMA program 2nd round to get benefited from the program to achieve sustainable development

Subsequently during second phase in 2008 the centre has trained 108 Municipal Ward Committee chair persons from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation division, with a focus of Intinta Indiramma scheme and other Government welfare Schemes, in particular with Urban development.

Training programme was graced by Honourable Ministers.
They have appreciated the efforts of the APARD organisation for its excellence in terms of logistics, technical and human resources.




Evaluation study on Quality on Care of Family Planning surgeries in 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh

Rational Government of India sanctioned Andhra Pradesh.. Urban Slums Health Care Project for implementation in Andhra Pradesh in slum areas of identified towns. Under this project the District Collector as Chariman established 192 Urban Health Centres through Non- governmental Organizations selected by the District level committee headed. Now Government of Andhra Pradesh. would like to find out the functioning of Urban Slums Health Care Project. The findings would help the Executive wing to assess the achievement of objectives with which it was launched. The perceptions of the recipient group/primary stakeholders would help in planning the needed changes. 

Objective
To access the Quality on Care of Family Planning surgeries in 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Methodology
On a whole 205 Health centres including PHCs and UHC and sterilization camps were identified. The sample comprised of five groups of individuals who were directly and some indirectly involved with the event the sample of the study include female beneficiaries, male beneficiaries, and attendants with the beneficiaries, Medical Officials and village representatives (SHG representatives and Mothers Committee members). The study was conducted on the 

Availability of Family Planning services

Availability of Physical facilities

Availability of Pre operational and post operational services 

And provision of exgratia.

A sample of 1080 individuals was interviewed for the study. The results of the study revealed that majority of them reported the access ability of the Family Planning services both permanent and temporary methods. similarly majority of them reported the accessibility of preoperational and post operational services and the payment of exgratia. However, high majority of them expressed dissatisfaction on the availability of the physical facilities in terms of Drinking water and toilet facilities.
