Ongoing Projects

CWCD center has prepared a directory on NGO’s working in Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with GO-NGO collaboration committee and CARE India.

The main objective in preparation of the directory on NGOs is to develop a database of the voluntary organization working in the areas of rural development and according to terrain wise. A profile of nearly 2000 NGO registered NGO during the year 2008-09 are compiled in this book. On similar lines a website is also developed with the technical support from APARD. 

This centre, in collaboration with GO-NGO cell conduct various training programmes in campus and off campus training program for the NGO representatives preferably, women on capacity building of the NGOs and gender sensitive issues and social development issues. Centre is also specialized in conducting off-campus training programmes in the tribal regions on health, education and child development issues. 

This centre works consultatively with CAPART in evaluating the operations of the NGO organizations who work in promoting the rural technology. APARD has more than 30 evaluators who are specialized in various disciplines of rural development. The centre coordinates with CAPART and the evaluators in assignment of the proposal to the perusal of the reports. Based on the reports and recommendations by the evaluators, the NGO receive the grant from Government. APARD has a credit of taking up more than 120 CAPART evaluations during current year 2008-09.

Similarly to create awareness on the consumer issues the centre plans to take up the training programmes in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards with main objectives to create awareness for the consumer of all sections and educate them including their rights in order to spread the consumer movement to a larger scale. To disseminate the know how about the use of the standard and to promote a quality culture in the country and to impart training to consume in such fields which affect the health and safety of the common consumers.

Similarly, In order to enhance the knowledge of CAPART evaluators on CAPART policy guide lines. An orientation programme is proposed for the same.

The centre proposes to take up a study on physical and psychological profile of the child labourers working on looms and weaves from Mahaboobnagar district. The focus of the study is on the finding out the physical and psychological profile of the child laborers and the determinant factors 

As a welfare activity APARD has a small scale grocery in its premises. The main aim of the grocery is to facilitate the employees residing in the campus and also for the off campus with fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits at fair price. The Centre looks after the maintenance and supervision of the grocery.

APARD has a model Creche with a Capacity of 20 children in the age of 6 months to 8 years. The main aim of the Creche is to facilitate the employees with child care and well organizing the parent education meetings. The centre also looks after the maintenance and supervision of the Crèche.
