The Centre for Development Studies (CDS) is a nonprofit organization and a registered society, established within      APARD. It utilizes all its earnings, movable & immovable properties towards promotion of its objectives that focus on responding to the needs, priorities, opportunities and          constraints, identified for development of the rural poor. It envisages to be the knowledge centre for issues related to socio-economic development.

 



CDS-APARD has embarked on a mission of providing equitable and sustainable growth opportunities to the rural poor by efficiently managing the funds and supporting the various rural development projects funded by the Government and external foreign agencies. Towards this the Centre will also engage itself in various related activities that range from providing opportunities to develop and upgrade knowledge and experiences in development issues, providing research, evaluation and monitoring services in development studies, providing professional assistance and consultancy in Human Resource Management and Financial Management, to help bring in  professionalism in the area of development, administration, and management of development projects."

 


  • Fund Management:
    As a society registered under FCRA, CDS successfully manages funds of projects involving financial assistance from the foreign donor agencies, The implementation of these projects have resulted in tangible impacts that can be assessed in quantitative and financial terms.
     

  • Direct Training Programs:
    Covers varied areas including office administration and accounting procedures, community mobilization, health and nutrition, stress management, HR management, entrepreneurship development and other related areas.
     

  • Research & Consulting:
    Ranges from undertaking studies, analyzing and interpreting all plans and activities at the grass-root level to offer technically feasible and economically viable propositions.
